Service in Synergy
From the hills of Assisi to those of Rio de Janeiro, the vision of DESATA-ME translates into an action of service in synergy. Bringing together creative actors from all sectors of society allows for a much greater service than each could achieve alone. In the heart of Rio, at the heart of the Church and with a global family, DESATA-Me strives to be a light in the darkness for those in need.
IN THE HEART OF RIO
The pandemic was a flashpoint, calling for deepened collaborations in service and advocacy. Offering food, water, health and hygiene solutions, spaces for human interaction and personal growth, remain crucial elements of outreach. Strategic relationships with entities such as the Minsterio Publico, Regional Tribunals, as well as local Churches, all continue to bear fruit - as seen in "The Cry of the Socially Excluded."

LOCAL AND NATIONAL SYNERGIES

THE CRY OF THE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED
AT THE HEART OF THE CHURCH
In light of this service and advocacy, DESATA-ME participates in the International Forum of Catholic-inspired Organizations, which convenes in Rome. With more than 100 participants, this Forum is dedicated to dialogue, mutual formation and synergistic enrichment - all in favor of more effective outreach to those served by the individual participants. A multi-year process of meetings, dialogue and shared experiences saw the Forum produce the collaborative document entitled, "Catholic-inspired Organizations: Toward a More Inclusive Society."

WITH A GLOBAL FAMILY
Collaboration at the international level has confirmed the experiences obtained in Brazil and has revealed an increasingly international trajectory of DESATA-ME. The universality of the issues confronted, albeit in distinct cultural and national contexts, compels global advocacy in favor of those on the peripheries in Rio and throughout the world. DESATA-ME thus finds great hope in growing the global dialogue on human and environmental rights - such as the right to water - in the media, before international organizations, and at academic institutions throughout the world.
